On 4–5 October 2012, forty-eight leaders from churches and para-church organisations across India gathered at the Taj Vivanta, Bangalore, for the second edition of Operation Nehemiah. Facilitated by the Transition Network in partnership with the Lausanne Movement, the event brought together major denominations such as the Catholic Church, CNI, CSI, Methodist, Pentecostal, Baptist, Anglican, and key organisations like Haggai Institute – India, Campus Crusade, UESI, IEM, UIM, Bible Society of India, EFI, NCCI, AIACHE, SAIACS, and others.
A central feature was the Operation Nehemiah Declaration Against Corruption (ONDAC), which participants discussed, signed, and committed to implementing—including translating it into multiple languages and publicly declaring personal assets.
Work-streams emerged around Spiritual Renewal, Testimony, Standards & Governance, and Education & Training, each with concrete projects and timelines. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with Dr Ivan Satyavrata calling it one of the most impactful gatherings in his 35 years of ministry.
Operation Nehemiah 2012 underscored the Church’s resolve to be “salt and light” in India by modelling financial integrity—offering an example that could inspire institutions across the nation and beyond.
